August 21, 2024 – The Kentucky CASA Network, Inc. (KCN) received a $3,000 grant from the Kentucky Bar Foundation to support the planning of a statewide Volunteer Recruitment Summit in October 2024 in Bowling Green, KY. The in-person summit, slated to bring together CASA staff, volunteers, board members, and stakeholders from across the state, aims to tackle the pressing issue of recruiting and retaining dedicated advocates for children who have experienced abuse and neglect.
Content for the summit is being informed by a Volunteer Recruitment Workgroup, led by the KCN’s Manager of Community Engagement & Volunteer Recruitment. The workgroup and relevant subgroups consist of CASA volunteers, program directors, and advocate supervisors from 15 different local CASA programs. These participants have been engaging in conversations about best practices, challenges, and actionable steps to enhance volunteer recruitment and retention efforts statewide.
